Design and feasibility study of an on-grid photovoltaic system for green electrification of hotels: a case study of Cedars hotel in Jordan

This paper presents a feasibility study of utilizing an on-grid photovoltaic (PV) system for electrification Cedars hotel located in Amman Jordan as case study. The PV has been designed, keeping view the required electrical load and energy available from sun Jordan. actual consumption is estimated (444 MWh/year) design simulation using Photovoltaic Geographical Information System software (PVGIS) (PVsyst). results showed that 912 panels distributed over 12 inverters, with area 1757.3 m2. In addition, produced total yearly 541 MWh, average performance ratio 0.828. economic proposed system’s payback period was 4.1 year. Moreover, life cycle savings (LCS) levelized cost (LCOE) analysis have carried out. LCS LCOE were found to be $51,493 $0.0199 /kWh, respectively. Therefore, installing on will save $38,718/year. It concluded technically economically viable technology residential applications.
